Amy & Doug grew up in the Seacoast area and currently reside in South Berwick. Their 2 adult children graduated from Marshwood High School, and they have a 14 year old at home who is currently in the Marshwood School District.
Doug has worked in education for over 20 years, including 6 years teaching at Shapleigh school in Kittery. He currently teaches math in Windham, NH. As a certified educator, Doug will have overall accountability for the delivery of the classroom portion of our certified Maine BMV driver education program.
Amy spent 25 years in corporate management, including designing and delivering engaging online training. During Covid Amy decided to leave her corporate position to support her family and community during the pandemic. Amy is a substitute teacher in both the Marshwood and York school districts.
Amy & Doug love the energy and enthusiasm that students bring to their day! That energy is what drew them to teaching students behind-the-wheel and they are excited to bring a new driving school to the Greater York area.
Mrs. Cole brings over 20 years of experience in education to her role as a certified driving instructor. She spent more than a decade teaching high school before transitioning to special education. She currently serves as a special educator at York Middle School. She has been a certified driving instructor for 2 years and recently earned her certification as a classroom instructor for driver's education.
Mr. Vega is an Ed Tech at the Monarch School of New England, which specializes in education for students with special needs. He is also a veteran of the United States Navy. He has been a certified driving instructor for 5 years.
Ms. Carmahalis is a bus driver for both the York & Kittery School districts. She also works in food services at York Middle School. She has been a certified driving instructor for 6 months.
Mr. Pidgeon is an 8th grade science teacher at York Middle School. He has been a certified driving instructor for both behind-the-wheel and classroom instruction for 2 years.
Mr. Pawlendzio is an Ed Tech at York High School. He is also the assistant varsity wrestling coach for York High School and head wrestling coach for York Middle School. He has been a certified driving instructor for 4 years.
